Shaw propels Resorters to third win in a row

OSHKOSH – Junior quarterback Jared Shaw erupted for 229 yards rushing and three touchdowns to power the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters to a 33-8 thumping of host Valley Christian Saturday afternoon.

The Resorters, who have won three in a row, improved their eight-man football record to 3-1 in the Great 8 Conference South Division (3-2 overall). The Warriors dropped to 2-2 in the division (3-2 overall).

“Saturday’s game was pretty solid,” said Resorter head coach Josh Bardon.

“We had a pretty good defensive game, three interceptions, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt. We did a little bend but not break – coming up with big plays when needed.”

Chris Koleno, Trent Rebedew and Troy Rebedew had one interception each for EL-G. Owen Kalbacken, who had two touch- down receptions, contributed a fumble recovery on defense.

“Offensively we were able to move the ball at times and pretty much controlled the game. We had a number of big plays and long runs. Shaw and Trent Rebedew carried most of the load, as well and some nice catches from Owen Kalbacken,” said Bardon.
