Warriors’ aerial assault keys win over Tigers

HOWARDS GROVE – Quarterback Joe Lippe fired three touchdown passes to wide receiver Michael Richter to spark Ozaukee to a 28-3 win over the Howards Grove Tigers in football action here Friday night.

The Warriors hiked their Big East Conference record to 3-1 (3-2 overall). HGHS fell to 0-5 in the Big East (0-5 overall).

Ozaukee exploded for 21 points in the second quarter to build a 21-3 lead after HGHS. Lippe threw two TD passes to Richter and wideout Noah Petersen had a 15-yard scoring run in the period.

The Tigers led 3-0 after one quarter on Jake Fritz’s 28-yard field goal.

“Howards took an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter but couldn’t stop the strong passing game of Ozaukee in the second quarter,” said Tiger head coach David Schmid.

“As a young team, we are mak- ing big strides but turnovers are our downfall right now.”

The Tigers suffered four turnovers in the game.

Fritz, a junior running back, had a big night on offense with a game-high 161 yards on 23 carries.
