The Paintings of Plymouth on Display at the Plymouth Arts Center

Come and see the “Paintings of Plymouth!” Artists from all over the state of Wisconsin and beyond have been painting for a full week in Plymouth for the Plymouth Arts Center’s Annual “Paint the Town, En Plein Air” event.

This event is graciously coordinated by artist Kitty Lynne Klich as a fundraiser for the Plymouth Arts Center. Artist Molly Johnson, owner of the Academy of Fine Art, in Denmark, WI, will judge the Plein Air paintings this year.

Awards totaling $2700 will be presented to winning artists at 7:30pm. The completed ‘Paintings of Plymouth’ will be on display and available at the silent auction, beginning with the opening reception Friday night, October 2nd from 6-9pm.

There will be complimentary hor d'oeuvres and a cash bar and music. Admission for the “Paint the Town” gala is free and open to the public. Don’t miss your opportunity to own an original painting of “Historic Plymouth,” for your home or office, or as a unique gift!

Several members of the Water’s Edge Artists–Painters for Preservation, are again participating in “Paint the Town en Plein Air” in Plymouth this year. Their goal as a group is to support preservation of historical and endangered places and a percentage of all sales of their work is donated towards this cause.

After the gala, unsold paintings (with artists’ permission) may be for sale at a ‘fixed price’ through Saturday, October 10th.

The public is invited to vote (A Viewer’s Choice Award) for the painting that best depicts downtown Plymouth and that Artist will receive the Postcard Award, meaning that postcards will be made from their painting and will be available for sale in the Plymouth Arts Center Gift Shop.
