Panthers dominate EWC dual meet

TWO RIVERS – The Plymouth Panthers raised their Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls swimming and diving dual record to 2-0 (4-2 overall) with a 133-37 trouncing of host Two Rivers Thursday night.

PHS won all 12 of the events and finished 1-2 in eight of them, including all three of the relays. The Panthers had three doublewinners: Anna Theisen in the 200- yard individual medley and 100 freestyle; Kayla Lentz, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly; and Kay Coley, 50 freestyle and 100 back- stroke.

The members of the PHS relays included: 200 medley – Coley, Caitlyn Klemme, Lentz and Theisen; 200 freestyle – Nichole Bartzen, Lindsey Karczewski, Lentz and Theisen; and the 400 freestyle – Bartzen, Karczewski, Katie Richart and Coley.

The other first-place finishers included Savannah Arneson in diving with a pool-record score of 186.35 points for six dives, Abby Nicholson in the 500 freestyle and Klemme in the 100 breaststroke.

“We had the chance for some of our swimmers to swim different events and were fortunate to win every event,” said Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“Savannah Arneson had a great diving competition.”

PHS won the junior varsity meet, 75-16. The Panthers’ individual winners were Delaney Scudella in the 200 freestyle; Katie Sanborn, 100 freestyle; Mary Addy, 100 backstroke; and Lily Marcom, 100 breaststroke.
