Pay it Forward challenge extended

The Plymouth Education Foundation’s new initiative, Pay It Forward, for the PHS Alumni Class Challenge is extended and will end at PHS Homecoming on October 9.

The PHS Alumni Class with the highest donor participation rate will be announced during halftime at the PHS Homecoming football game that day. PHS alumni who would like to participate in the challenge are encouraged to:

* Make a Donation to the Plymouth Education Foundation at in honor of your high school graduation year, for example, for Class of 1989 make a donation of $19.89.

* Challenge Classmates via social media to do the same by posting, “I just took the Foundation’s PHS Alumni Class Challenge to Pay It Forward, will you join me?”

* Celebrate Homecoming on October 9 by participating in the 4:15 p.m. parade, 5-8 p.m. tours of the new Food Science and Agriculture Center, and 7 p.m. homecoming football game where the Foundation will host a “Welcome PHS Alumni” tent and give alumni who stop by and sign in a complimentary gift.

The foundation’s Pay It Forward challenge not only brings together alumni, but also students and the community to create a chain reaction of Positive Panther Pride that will make a difference for our students and our community now and into the future.

Students in the district, K-12, have been participating in the Pay It Forward challenge by performing acts of kindness and staff has been sharing these on paper chain links. Each of the five schools will have their Pay It Forward paper chain links on display at the PHS Homecoming football game.

In addition, the community has been participating in the Pay It Forward challenge also by performing acts of kindness for someone they know or don’t know. And, have been asked to consider making a donation to the foundation to make a difference that benefits students as well as our community now and into the future. The Plymouth community Pay It Forward challenge extends through December 31, 2015:

* Perform an act of kindness for someone you know or do not know and consider making a recurring donation.monthly, quarterly or annually. to the Plymouth Education Foundation at to benefit our students and our community.

* Consider inviting the Plymouth Education Foundation to be a guest speaker at your company or civic organization meeting in October, November, or December to learn more about who the foundation is and what it does.

* Celebrate Homecoming.
