Gallenberger’s six goals key Tigers’ rout

KIEL – Senior forward Devin Gallenberger exploded for a career high six goals to spark the Howards Grove Tigers to a 10-2 rout over the Kiel Raiders here Sept. 28 in a nonconference boys soccer match.

The Tigers, who have won four straight, improved to 10-4-1.

Scoring one goal each for the Tigers were Jack Baldwin, Jeremy Berglund, Derrick Grimm and Bryce Pedrin. Derrick Grimm, Ben Dehne and Peter Grimm led HGHS in assists with two apiece and Carson Teske had one.

The Tigers held an impressive 22-4 lead in shots on goal. HGHS goalie Hunter Voss made two saves. Raider goalkeeper James Hintz had 12.

Zach Zorn scored both of the Raiders’ goals.

“We obviously got a tremendous performance from Devin Gallenberger with six goals tonight. He has been scoring goals on a regular basis and he finished his opportunities tonight very well,” said Tiger head coach Kasey Smith.

“I was most impressed with our passing this evening. The guys moved the ball well and they make the game much easier on themselves when they do that.

“Hunter Voss made some nice saves tonight and our starting back line continues to get better,” said Smith.
