State 67/PP intersection open

And then there was one.

Work on one of two projects on State 67 in the city of Plymouth has ended, leaving only work on North Milwaukee Street yet to be completed, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation regional office in Green Bay.

Work on the 0.75-miles rural reconstruction and resurfacing of the intersection of State 67 and County PP/Hill and Dale Road and from County PP to Riverbend Drive was completed last week and are now open to traffic.

The work involved two contracted projects - the reconstruction of the intersection at State 67 and County PP/Hill and Dale Road and the mill and overlay of State 67 from County PP northward to Riverbend Drive. The work on these projects included pavement removals, asphalt pavement, culvert pipe, storm sewer, curb and gutter, beam guard, signing, pavement marking, and erosion control.

On the State 67 project on North Milwaukee Street, the remaining sidewalk, driveways and curb and gutter should be completed this week. Grading, backfilling and landscaping will continue and, weather permitting, the majority of this work should be completed this week. The asphalt pavement transitions and sewer trenches should also be paved this week. Installing street signs and possibly pavement marking may occur this week or the first part of the following week.

The 0.84-mile, $3.18 million urban reconstruction project involves reconstruction of State 67 from the Mullet River to Suhrke Road, resurfacing and repairs to the Mullet River Bridge, and water utility, storm sewer and sanitary sewer reconstruction along with new concrete pavement.

State 67 is closed to through traffic during construction. Access to local businesses and properties will be maintained. However, several of the side roads to State 67 (North Milwaukee Street) will be closed as work progresses. Residents can utilize Edna and Grove Street to cross State 67 and Krumrey Street to access Marshner and Braun Streets. Alternate access will be maintained as work continues north. The Main Street intersection will remain open to residences and business access only.

The detour for through traffic uses County C and State 23.

On the $1.7 million 14th Street bridge project in the city of Sheboygan, the contractor will pour the parapets on the bridge and will begin placing concrete pavement adjacent to the bridge this week.

The project consists of bridge deck replacement, pavement replacement and street lighting

State 28 (14th Street) is closed to all traffic between Niagara Avenue and Ontario Avenue through mid-November 2015. A detour will be in place using Indiana Avenue, Taylor Drive, Kohler Memorial Drive and Erie Avenue
