James Russell Preston, 87, of Plymouth, WI went to be with Jesus and his beloved first wife on Thursday morning ,Oct. 15, 2015.

James was born on February 5, 1928, in Rief Mills, WI, the son of the late Jacob Washington and Viola (Peppard) Preston.

On October 18, 1950, he married the love of his life, Dorothy M. Resch. The couple resided in Cooperstown, Reedsville and St. Cloud where they enjoyed their farms and raising children for many years before moving to Plymouth in 1978. He then started his new career of driving oil truck for Plymouth Oil.

He was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God Church since 1982. He was a hard-working man, provider for his family and loved his horses.

After almost 60 years with Dorothy, she went to be with Jesus on March 8, 2010.

James then reunited with an old family friend from St. Cloud days, Delphinia Wondra, who had recently become a widow herself. The two married in June of 2011 and kept each other company.

James is survived by his second wife, Delphinia and his children: James (Kay) of Cato, Norbert (Debbie) of Caledonia, Larry (Kathy) of Eden, Tim (Chris) Preston of Mt. Calvary and Greg (Kelly) Preston of Gahannah, OH; five daughters: June (Jim) Nies of DePere, Mary (Paul) Hankins of Plymouth, Marjorie (Keith) Henschel of Cascade, Anne Preston of Plymouth and Virginia (Jay) Kohlmann of Plymouth; 45 grandchildren, 25-plus great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; his brothers: Jack (Mary Ann) of Manitowoc and Joseph Gene (Kathy) of Whitelaw; sister: Katherine Geiger of Brillion; brotherin law: Joe (Bernice) Resch of Whitelaw and sisters-in-law: Jeanette Preston, Mary Resch, Margaret (John) Gwidt of Pulaski and Mary (Elmer) Phipps of Reedsville.

He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy Preston; his son: Joseph John Preston; and brothers: George Preston, Francis (Leona) and Charles Earl (Elmira) Preston; his Sister Marion (Robert) Schamburek; brother and sisters-in-laws: Harry (Anna), Louis (Dorothy), Norman and Bernard Geiger.

Funeral Services will be celebrated on Monday evening (October 19, 2015) at 6:00 P.M. at Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Plymouth. Rev. Richard York, Pastor of the Church will officiate.

Cremation will follow the services.

Friends and relatives may call at the church on Monday, October 19 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in James name.
