Panthers breeze to dual victory

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Panthers lifted their girls swimming and diving dual record to 6-2 with a 128-51 drubbing of Port Washington in nonconference action Thursday night at the PHS pool.

Senior Anna Theisen and sophomore Katy Coley were individual double-winners to pace the Panthers. Theisen swept the distance freestyle races – posting a time of 2 minutes, 7.06 seconds in the 200- yard event and 5:35.12 in the 500.

Coley captured first in the 100 freestyle in 58.06 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.29.

“A pretty good meet for us. It was nice to finally get home after so many away dual meets. We moved some people around which is always fun,” said Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“I’m really proud of our junior varsity swimmers as they continue to compete hard against each other. They practice hard and it is really paying off.

“Freshman Libby Tournour continues to improve every meet but in this meet she was exceptional with a very fast 29.22 in the JV 50 freestyle. That’s a great time for a new swimmer,” said Sedlacek.

PHS won the JV meet easily, 80-6.
