Wood Shop Supervisor

Job Description: This position is responsible for supervising production in our woodshop. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage employees producing multiple concurrent wood turning and fabrication jobs. This is a hands-on position, where you will spend most of your time on the shop floor. Responsibilities:

. Oversee the woodshop ensuring quality and on-time delivery standards are met. . Ensure employees are properly trained on work processes and tools. . Empower outstanding safety performance and a clean production environment. . Implement procedural and fabrication improvements leading to increased productivity. . Assist with quoting jobs by determining the woodshop operations and material needed. . Be sure all inventory used in the woodshop is being tracked accurately. . Review job tickets for woodshop jobs, to make sure all operations are included and accurate prior to starting production of each job. . Review all woodshop employee time sheets at the end of the shift and question or correct any errors in time clocked in to operations. . Coach and discipline employees as necessary if proper procedures and behavior are not being followed. . Monitor attendance and approve vacation time off for direct report employees. . Be able to set up and change over machines for different jobs if necessary.

Job Skills & Qualifications Required:

. 5-10 years experience in a woodworking shop environment, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role. . Ability to handle multiple tasks and properly prioritize them. . Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ERP software. . Candidate must poses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. . Math skills necessary to calculate board feet, required production time, etc.
