EVANGELINE E. LANGE

Evangeline E. Lange, 86, formerly of rural Elkhart Lake, died Thursday afternoon, October 29, 2015 at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where she resided the past four years.

She was the former Evangeline Holzschuh born October 6, 1929 in the Town of Rhine, daughter of the late Elmer & Edwina (Holzmann) Holzschuh.

Vange attended Harrison Grade School and was a 1948 graduate of Elkhart Lake High School.

On October 7, 1961 she married Edward A. Lange at St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake.

Edward preceded her in death on December 25, 2000.

Vange was employed at Evans Variety in Kiel for 53 years until her retirement. An outgoing, people person she made many lasting friendships while she was employed there.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake.

Vange enjoyed playing sheepshead, crocheting, crafting, sewing, gardening and making floral arrangements. She especially enjoyed eating out & traveling with her husband, Ed and socializing with the many people she met.

Survivors include her sister: Marcella Devine and her children: Linda (Gary) Adelman, Bob (Mary) Devine, “Godson” Janice Devine, Alan Devine; her Holzmann family: Larry (Irene) Holzmann, Edward Holzmann, Ronald (Sandi) Holzmann, Stanley Holzmann, RoseAnn Schweitzer “Goddaughter”, Richard (Sharon) Holzmann, David (Lisa) Holzmann, Sheri Schweitzer, “Goddaughter”, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother in-law: John Devine; cousins: Rosie Holzmann and Gene Schweitzer.

The Funeral Mass for Vange will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake with Fr. Dan Volkert officiating.

Burial will take place in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel.

Family and friends may call at St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Vange’s family would like to extend their thanks to Willowdale Nursing Home and Calumet County Hospice for the excellent care she received and Dr. Michael Hetzner for all his help.
