Despite extremely wet conditions, Otte, who was making his second straight appearance at the state meet, turned in a time of 16:27.35 on the tricky 5K (3.1 mile) course to collect a sixthplace medal.

A year ago, Otte place 15th at the state meet with a time of 16:21.90 in more favorable running conditions.

“Clark ran the very wet and muddy 5K course in 16:27 which is a very fast time for those conditions,” Sheboygan Falls Cross Country Coach Tiffany Otte said. “He met his goal of a top-six finish and raced hard to achieve it.”

Daniel Pederson of Spooner won the Division 2 boys race with a with of 16:07.23.
