Applicants sought for library board

Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne is seeking interested persons residing in Sheboygan County to apply for a member-at-large position on the Eastern Shores Library System (ESLS) Board that will be vacant as of Dec. 31.

The board member will be appointed to a three-year term from Jan. 1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2018. The board meets the last Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the ESLS offices at 4632 S. Taylor Dr., Sheboygan, and at other member libraries at least six times per year. The library system provides travel expense reimbursement for attendance at board meetings. Interested persons must be willing to commit two hours a month for board meetings and another two hours a month for committee meetings.

The Eastern Shores Library System is a joint agency of Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties which receives funds from the Wisconsin State Legislature to provide services to member libraries. It also receives funds from the two member counties to compensate libraries for service to residents of the two counties who have no local library service and to operate a bookmobile service.

The county administrator’s appointment to the Eastern Shores Library System Board is subject to the approval of the full County Board. Applicants should send a letter of interest and brief resume to the attention of County Administrator Adam Payne at the Sheboygan County Administration Building, 508 New York Ave., Sheboygan 53081. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2. The appointment will be confirmed by the County Board at their Dec. 15 meeting for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2016.
