PHS, HG players earn tennis honors

The Plymouth Panthers and Howards Grove Tigers are well-represented on the 2015 All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys tennis first team.

Plymouth’s first-team picks are sophomore (2014-15 school year) Lex Eggert at No. 4 singles, and brothers Gabe and Gavin Binversie at No. 1 doubles. Gabe was a junior and Gavin a sophomore this past season. The Binversie duo earned a fifth-place medal in the Division 2 state meet and finished 22-8 overall.

The Tigers’ first-team selections are junior Travis Stanczyk at No. 3 singles, and the No. 2 doubles team of senior Trent Beninghaus and junior Brad Olson.

The Panthers’ other All-EWC players include junior Matt Primozic, second-team No. 1 singles and senior Ryan Gallagher, second-team No. 3 singles. Primozic tied for seventh in D-2 state singles play.

Also earning all-league recognition for HGHS are freshman Eric Reinemann, second-team No. 4 singles; seniors Zach Fritz and Andrew Reinemann, third-team No. 1 doubles; and freshmen Brandon Kushnier and Chase Williams, third-team No. 3 doubles.
