RUTH CECELIA OLSEN

Ruth Cecelia “Tink” Olsen, 94, of Sheboygan, WI passed away Sunday afternoon (November 15, 2015) at Countryside Manor in Sheboygan, where she had been a resident for the last year.

Tink was born on August 25, 1921 in Green Bay, WI, a daughter of the late John and Mae (Hudson) Buresh.

On April 11, 1942 she married Gordon Edward Olsen at Patrick’s Catholic Church in Green Bay. The couple was married for 72 years. Gordon preceded her in death on October 28, 2014.

Tink had an undaunted faith in Christ, which helped her through the challenges of the last years of her life.

She had an insatiable sweet tooth and as a result made some of the world’s best desserts.

Her Thanksgiving dinner always included at least three kinds of pie. She was also famous for her chocolate chip cookies.

Tink played bridge, tennis and golf, and enjoyed downhill skiing with her family. The apple of her eye was her grandson: Eric Michael Rost.

Survivors include her two children: Carol Jean Rost (Jonathan) of Plymouth, Eric Edward Olsen (Liz Germanotta) of Shorewood; one grandson: Eric Michael Rost of Plymouth. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. William Rishel, pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Allouez, WI.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Friday (Nov. 20) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name for Hearthstone of Wisconsin and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Tink’s family would like to extend huge thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Countryside Manor who took such good care of Tink and made sure she always looked her best.
