UW-S auditions for ‘American Notes’

All area residents, including UW-Sheboygan students, faculty and staff, are invited to audition for the University of Wisconsin- Sheboygan’s spring 2016 production of the play “American Notes” by Len Jenkin.

Open auditions will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. December 1 and 2, in the Fine Arts Theatre on the UW-Sheboygan campus.

In “American Notes,” everything happens at night. According to University Theatre Director Dr. Thomas Campbell, this story is weird in the most wonderful ways possible. This show has been called a “mythic vision of America” and has been explained as a combination of “Our Town” meets “Waiting for Godot.”

All those interested in being a part of this production are encouraged to audition as no experience is necessary. Those auditioning will not be expected to prepare for the audition in any way. Materials will be provided. Auditions are open to community members and students.

Rehearsals for this show will be held three to four nights a week starting February 2, 2016. Rehearsal sessions will be held in the evening based on actor availability. Performance dates for American Notes are April 13-16 at 7:30 p.m.

Roles to be filled for this production include three to four women and six to seven men of all ages.
