MADLIN FINKE

Madlin Finke, 100, of Plymouth, WI, passed away on Saturday morning (Nov. 21, 2015) at Kindred Hearts in Plymouth, where she had been a resident for the past 6 1/2 years.

She was born in Mayville, WI on March 28, 1915, daughter of the late Richard and Martha (Wegner) Justmann.

Madlin was raised and educated in Mayville.

On December 31, 1940, she was united in marriage to Werner W. Finke at Zion Lutheran Church near Theresa, WI. Madlin’s husband taught and coached at Plymouth High School for 35 years. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1992.

Madlin was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She was also an active member of the Church Choir, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the quilters group.

Madlin worked at the Plymouth Utilities for 9 years and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.

She is survived by her four daughters: Lori (Thomas) Yahr of Lakewood, WI, Karen (Fred) Crook of Shawano, Jane (Mark) Nicolaus of Sidney, MT, and Linda (Tom) Blotz of Brookfield; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild; one sister: Naomi (Howard) Kriewald of Iron Ridge, WI; and one brother: Andrae (Jenny) Justmann of Waupaca.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Private family services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Rev. Nathan Meador, Pastor of the Church, and Rev. Mark Nicolaus, son-in-law, will co-officiate. Interment will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in Madlin’s name for St. John Lutheran Church of Plymouth.
