Downtown set to kick off the season

‘Shop Plymouth First’ contest starts Saturday

In an effort to remind area residents the importance of supporting their local businesses, the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is kicking off a “Shop Plymouth for the Holidays” advertising campaign.

Area retailers, salons and restaurants are participating on a shopper’s card where they will be able to track their purchases during the event dates of Nov. 28 – Dec. 31. Cards can be picked up at any participating location and when at least 10 locations have been visited or purchases made, the cards can be turned in at any of the participating locations for a drawing for a prize basket valued at a minimum of $300.

The prize package consists of donations from the participating businesses including such items as gift certificates, jewelry, food, Chamber $$, accessories and tshirts.

One lucky winner will be drawn from the shopper’s cards that are turned in by Dec. 31. The drawing will be held at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce office on Jan. 4. Additional details on the contest and a list of participating businesses can be found on the Chamber website at www.plymouthwisconsin.com.

Mary Hauser, executive director at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce stated, “we all know the importance of supporting our local businesses throughout the year but we want to make sure to emphasize that to help keep our local economy strong, we need to do our holiday shopping in Plymouth at our many unique establishments FIRST before you start looking outside of the area.”
