Leona M. Lensmire, 92, of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday afternoon (November 18, 2015) at the Atrium Care Center in Plymouth.

On April 2, 1923 she was born in the Town of Mitchell, daughter of the late Louis and Hilda (Radder) Heinrich.

Leona graduated from Plymouth High School in 1941. She worked at Cleveland Container (Cleve-Pak Corp.) for many years.

On November 9, 1946 she married Robert Lensmire at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1995.

Leona was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

She loved to read, do needlework, puzzles and gardening.

Survivors include one daughter: Barbara (Russell) Semrad of Tigerton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Emily Hintz of Milwaukee and Jan (Bob) Behling of Jefferson; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one son: David Lensmire; two sisters: Adeline (Arlyn) Mantz and Louise Kaemmerling; five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

Following Leona’s wishes, private family services are being held. Rev. John Schultz, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth will officiate. Interment will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.
