Pearl Harbor ceremony Monday

The Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243 of Plymouth will host their annual Pearl Harbor Day remembrance program Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Legion post building, 40 Stafford St.

This marks the 74th anniversary of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. That event drew the United States into World War II.

Featured speaker for the program will be Kermit Krueger, who served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. The program will also recognize Plymouth native and resident Stuart “Bud” Sweeney, a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The public is invited to the ceremony, which include the tossing of a memorial wreath into the Mullet River.
