KEWASKUM - After the Sheboygan Falls High School boys basketball team lost its season opener, it rebounded quickly to win back-to-back road games last week.

The Falcons outscored Kewaskum 33-17 in the first half and went on to an easy 61-42 nonconference victory Saturday, Dec. 5 to move to 2-1 overall.

Falls senior Austin Madden scored 13 points and senior Ross Krist added 11 points to lead the Falcons in scoring.

Krist also had five rebounds and three steals, while junior John Vanderploeg and senior Alex Antonie grabbed five boards each.

“We played good team defense

and our rebounding helped control the whole game,” said Falcons’ head coach Jake Frohling.

Falls opened the Eastern Wisconsin Conference season with a close 71-68 win over Manitowoc Roncalli Thursday, Dec. 3, at Roncalli.

Sophomore JT Petrie led the Falcons (1-0 EWC) with a doubledouble, scoring 16 points and collecting 10 rebounds with four steals. Antonie scored a careerhigh 17 points and had eight boards.

Madden scored in double figures again with 13 points on the strength of three 3-point shots.

Roncalli led by five points late in the game. However, Falls rallied to win with three 3-pointers and two free throws in the closing second by Madden to win the game.

“This was a back-and-forth game,” remarked Frohling. “I’m really happy with the team play and how we rallied with some big shots towards the end of the game.
