Pat, the daughter of Jim and Etta Burkart, was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on February 2, 1943. She grew up in Plymouth where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Bruce Martin. The couple graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961 and were married on February 8, 1964 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Pat devoted herself to raising her three children and supporting her husband in his real estate career which grew into coowning the largest RE/MAX Company in Wisconsin, RE/MAX Realty 100. As her children grew, Pat joined Bruce in real estate where the couple worked side by side for over 20 years. She was also an avid tennis player,

Pat and Bruce raised their family in Brookfield and spent summers surrounded by family and friends at their home on Crystal Lake. She loved working in her yard, attending to its beautiful flower beds. Pat welcomed the arrival of each and every grandchild, spending time with them making brownies and fishing for bluegills off the end of her pier.

In addition to fishing on Crystal Lake, Pat loved to fish with Bruce, family, and friends in the waters off the Bahamian islands as well as around Sanibel Island where the couple spent their winters.

A private family service celebrated by Father Dan Volkert will be held to honor Pat›s life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to benefit the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, www,sccf.org, has been established in her name.
