Cougars cruise past PHS in ECC dual

Lopez scored a pin. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Panthers slipped to 1-2 in East Central Conference dual wrestling action (1-6 overall) with a 58-18 loss to Campbellsport here Thursday night.

The Cougars racked up six pins and won two matches by forfeit against a young PHS team which had only two upperclassmen in its lineup.

PHS had pins from sophomores Pablo Lopez and Jake Hefter at 132 and 220 pounds, respectively. The Panthers’ other winner was Chris Stark by forfeit at 285.

Panther freshman Josh Koll lost a tough match in overtime, 9-7, to senior Dominic Wetzel. The score was tied 7-7 after regulation. Wetzel earned a takedown to win the match.
