The Resorters, who improved to 2-2 in Big East Conference dual action, were led by Jon Roll, Cody Nelson and Trent Rebedew who scored pins at 285, 106 and 138 pounds, respectively. Elkhart won four matches by forfeit.

Also winning on the mat for the Resorters was Regan Dippel with a 13-7 decision at 195.

“The kids wrestled really well. We haven’t competed since Dec. 19, so I was concerned about them coming out flat. That definitely was not the case,” said Resorter head coach Larry Ward.

“The turning point of the dual was the 106-pound match. The dual was tied 15-15 before Cody Nelson came out and pinned his opponent in the second period.”

Nelson’s pin gave Elkhart a 21- 15 lead.

“Regan Dippel has been sick the last few days and for him to wrestle as good as he did in his victory was impressive,” said Ward.
