Middle-school wrestling meeting Jan. 19

Plymouth-area boys and girls in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in extracurricular wrestling.

Middle-school athletics, which are open to all area students whether they attend public or parochial schools or are home-schooled, are coordinated by Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation.

The wrestling team is coached by Riverview Middle School teacher John Hoopman. Informational meetings will be held at 7:30 a.m. (during homeroom) and at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the gym at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle.

Practices will be held from 3- 4:30 p.m. on school days, beginning Monday, Jan. 25 in the Plymouth High School wrestling room. Bus transportation to PHS is provided from Riverview, St. John the Baptist and St. John Lutheran.

The season consists of five conference meets, mostly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Feb. 23, with a conference tournament March 17.
