Lions honor ophthalmologist

Dr. Christopher L. Larson was recently presented with the prestigious Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin (LEBW) Knight of Sight Fellowship. The award was presented to Larson by Jerry Wille (right), president of the LEBW, at the annual dinner meeting of the Sheboygan Area Lions Eye Bank Support Group. Wille shared that the fellowship is “the highest form of recognition that may be presented by a club, zone, group, or district to an individual which exemplifies the LEBW’s mission to give the Gift of Sight in Wisconsin, the United States and Internationally. “ Larson has promoted the Lions Club mission locally through his efforts of expanding the corneal donor and transplant program, performing corneal transplant surgery on area patients and by lecturing about the importance of the Lions efforts to enhance vision through screenings, vision care, and ophthalmic surgery. He is the only surgeon in the area to perform this type of surgery. Larson’s name will be prominently and permanently displayed on the LEBW Knight of Sight Wall of Honor, and will also be recognized in a future LEBW annual report. Submitted photo Dr. Christopher L.
