JULIA ANN STIELOW

Our mother and beloved wife, Julia Ann Stielow age 80, passed away January 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Julia was born on October 31, 1935 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Michael and Norma (Broechel) Reinholtz. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1954. After high school, Julia worked in Milwaukee as a beauty consultant, followed by employment at Orlene’s Beauty Salon. For 15 years Julia worked as a nursing assistant in the nursery at Memorial Hospital. As her family grew, she left the working world and stayed home to support her family. As her children left the home, she went back to work at Evans department store on the south side of Sheboygan.

Julia was very active with Bethlehem Lutheran Church serving on the Mother’s Club and Altar Guild. But most of Julia’s time and energy was devoted to being a supportive wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to being a great cook, Julia enjoyed shopping, gardening, summer vacations on Wheeler Lake and watching QVC and Jimmy Kimmel. She attended all of the Christmas programs, recitals, sporting events of her children and grandchildren where she played the active role of the family cheerleader. Along with those things, she loved taking care of Sparky the family dog.

On November 1, 1958, Julia was united in marriage to Robert Stielow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Over the 57 years of married life, Bob and Julia were blessed with six children: Tim (Carol) Stielow, Scott (Lisa) Stielow, Lisa (Chris) Schultz, Stacey (Brian) Grimm, Tracey (Tom) Johnson, Steve (Maggie) Stielow. Julia was further blessed with ten beautiful grandchildren: Jennifer, Jackie, Dustin, Kurt, Jacob, Sara, Derrick, Peter, Izzy and Lucy. Julia is further survived by her sisters: Rosalie Rusch and Carol Pantel; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Norma Reinholtz; and her brother Victor Reinholtz.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1122 Georgia Ave in Sheboygan at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. James Hartman and Alan Kubow presiding. Friends and relatives are welcome to join the family for a time of remembrance on January 28 from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
