Cold-shooting Resorters tumble in BEC play

REEDSVILLE – Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah shot only 22 percent from the field as Reedsville cruised to a 75-32 boys basketball win here Friday night.

The Panthers improved to 4-6 in the Big East Conference (5-9 overall). The Resorters fell to 0-10 in BEC play (2-11 overall).

Reedsville used a 16-3 run in the final 5:40 of the first half to build a 30-13 halftime lead. Elkhart trailed only 14-10 before the run but then forward Owen Kalbacken had to sit due to foul trouble and Max Kossman went down with a knee injury as the Panthers pulled away. Kossman was unable to return.

Kalbacken, a senior forward, had a double-double with a teamhigh

14 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Schwahn sparked the Panthers’ attack with 23 points.
