Law enforcement Citizens Academy offered

The men and women of the Sheboygan County Law Enforcement agencies will be conducting a Citizens Academy starting Mar. 10.

The academy will encompass many different facets of law enforcement and provide participants numerous hands on opportunities to gain a better understanding of how and why law enforcement serves the community.

The academy will be held for three hours in the evening over 11 consecutive weeks. Topics include correctional officers duties, dive team, defense and arrest tactics, weapons training, SWAT team gear, deadly force decisions. The academy is free.

Applications are available online at www.sheboygansheriff.com, the Sheboygan County government website www.sheboygancounty.com, and in person at the Sheobygan County Sheriff’s Department, 525 N. Sixth St., Sheboygan.

Applications must be returned by 5 p.m. Feb. 25.
