‘Dreams & Fantasies’ in Sartori concert series

The Plymouth Arts Center will present Dreams & Fantasies, the 5th concert in the Joseph Sartori Concert Series sponsored by the Sartori Company, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 7:00 pm. Performers are: Riley McKinch, pianist; Drea Wagner, pianist; Tabitha Burchett, soprano; and Mary Van Wyk, soprano.

This diverse concert will highlight the vast array of music inspired by the world of imagination and fancy, from the wistful, yearning reverie of Rachmaninov’s “Six Romances” and Puccini’s “Chi Il Bel Sogno,” to the imaginative virtuosity of Mendelssohn’s “Scottish Fantasie,” the vivacity of the recognizable “Sleep- ing Beauty’s Waltz,” and the intense nightmare of Berlioz’s “March to the Scaffold.” Broadway and cinema’s fascination with dreams will be showcased, and of course a fair selection of lullabies from Brahms, Copland, Viski, Whitacre, and Schumann will round out this program that will feature piano solos, piano duets, soprano solos, and vocal ensembles.

Tickets for the concert are $10 in advance and $12 at the door for general seating. Students, college and under may purchase tickets at a discount ($5 in advance and $6 at the door). Please visit the Plymouth Arts Center at 520 E. Mill Street, downtown
