Resorters fade in second half, fall to Living Word

ELKHART LAKE – Living Word Lutheran (Jackson) outscored the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters 30-12 in the final 12 minutes en route to a 72-48 rout in boys basketball action here Monday night.

The nonconference loss dropped the Resorters’ record to 2-14 while the Timber Wolves improved to 3-12.

Elkhart trailed only 42-36 before Lutheran went on its big run.

“I felt we were in good position [trailing 42-36] but we had some bad turnovers that fueled a 30-12 LVL run. Its disappointing in that we play well for extended periods but can’t sustain that for 36 minutes,” said Resorter head coach Ray Mlada.

“The kids played hard. We’ll keep grinding.”

Caleb Broaddus and Owen Kalbacken shared scoring honors for the Resorters with 17 points each. Broaddus poured in five threepointers. Kalbacken also pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.

Gideon Cain paced the Timber Wolves in scoring with 18.
