PHS won seven of the 12 events and had contributions throughout the lineup as it rolled up 574 points. Placing second was Brillion/Valders/Chilton with 487.

Senior Ryan Holec led the Panthers – repeating as the 50- and 100-yard freestyle champion. Holec set a meet and PHS record in the 100 with a time of 48.89 seconds. He had a personal record 22.19 in the 50.

PHS senior Chaz Halderson won his second straight 100 breaststroke crown with a personal best 1 minute, 4.47 seconds.

“We had a really good day on Saturday – one of the best per formances by this team. In every event our guys secured a top three finish and in every event but two we had multiple top-six finishers,” said PHS head coach Clare Sedlacek.

Holec, Halderson and Harrison Strutz had four first-place finishes each, including relays.

The Panthers set a meet and pool record en route to winning the 200 medley relay in 1:43.18. The relay included Strutz, Halderson, Holec and Cole Henning.

“We really had a very strong all-around team performance, with most guys getting at least one PR on the day. Our ‘B’ medley relay [Keegan Gafney, Jaxsen Schermacher, Ben Nichols, Mitch Eigenberger] swam really well to leapfrog over two school’s ‘A’ relays to take fourth,” said Sedlacek.

A follow-up on the EWC Meet along with a sectional preview will be in Thursday’s Review.
