Knitted Hat, Kids in Kitchen to start

Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation is offering opportunities to knit a hat and to have fun with preschoolers in the kitchen.

Register by Feb. 26 and save $10 on the following classes, which will be held at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave.:

Knitted Hat: Those who can knit and purl will knit a popular hat in one of three styles: slouch beret, alpaca slouch or pike’s peak. Samples are available in the Community Ed & Rec office and at the first class. Class will meet with instructor Sharon Schlundt from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays from March 7 to 14; fee is $20 ($16 for Generations members and district residents ages 62 and up) until Feb. 26, plus supplies.

Kids in the Kitchen - Jr. Edition: Community Ed & Rec and the Family Resource Center have partnered to offer parents and children ages 2 to 5 an opportunity to work together on toddler-friendly recipes. Participants will learn more about healthy nutrition and realize just how much a young child can help in the kitchen. Class will meet with instructors Jessica Mella, Plymouth School District nutrition and wellness coordinator, and Amanda Oonk, Family Resource Center parent educator, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10; fee is $8 per family until Feb. 26, which includes all supplies.

Online registration - which no longer carries a service charge - is available for these classes, which allows participants to pay with a credit card and to receive immediate confirmation of enrollment.
