PAC treats

To the Editor,

Join us at the Plymouth Arts Center (PAC) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26 for two great treats. We’ll begin at 5:00 p.m. with an art class open house. Come and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and light snacks as you meet and mingle with the wonderful local artists who serve as our art teachers. You will gain insights into our course offerings, including ongoing painting classes, figure drawing, photography, and other exciting activities that are coming very soon. You can also meet our new education coordinator, Lisa Vihos, and share your ideas with her about courses you would like to see offered in the coming year. Lisa is eager to listen and serve you the kinds of art experiences you are seeking from PAC.

Then, at 6:00 p.m., guest artist Christine Alfery, whose work is currently on display in Gallery 110 North of the Plymouth Arts Center, will offer a public talk about her themes, inspiration, and artistic process. Alfery is a highly acclaimed artist with a studio in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. She has been exhibiting her work nationally for many years. Alfery currently has a large group of mixed media works on view at PAC until March 11 in an exhibition titled Imagine. Her show is sponsored by Franz Backus and Sun Graphics, whose new owners are Justin and Kelly Webb (former owners, Terry and Mary Kay Evans.) Please come and join us for what is sure to be a great afternoon and evening of mingling and talking about art. Don’t miss it!

Area art teachers please take note: at 4:15pm, Alfery will offer a gallery talk with Q&A session geared to high school and middle school students. Please let your students know about this great opportunity to meet and mingle with a practicing artist.

Visit the Plymouth Arts Center website at www.plymoutharts.org and Facebook pages for new class and workshop listings which are updated weekly. Convenient online registration is also now available for most classes. Early registration is always encouraged as this may help to ensure that a class will run.
