Parkinson group sets schedule

The Wisconsin Parkinson Association’s Parkinson Disease Support Group in Sheboygan has recently announced its schedule of upcoming speakers.

The group meets at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center at 3014 Erie Avenue in Sheboygan on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:00 pm. Meetings are free and open to those with Parkinson disease, their caregiv- ers, friends and family, as well as those working in the industry.

March 15 – The group will have open discussion and “sharing and caring” time.

April 19 – Stephen Rosema will speak on depression issues in Parkinson disease.

May 17 – Vicki Conte will be the guest speaker. Vicki is the Program Manager for the Department of Neurology at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin.

June 21 – Stacey Rooker, PT will speak about the Parkinson exercise group that meets in Sheboygan.

Symptoms of Parkinson disease can include tremor, slowness of movement, rigidity, problems with balance, smaller handwriting, soft speech, dragging of feet, and a decreased sense of smell.
