Falk leads PHS boys at Oshkosh Invite

OSHKOSH – Junior Gavin Falk placed third in the long jump to lead the Plymouth Panthers in the Oshkosh Invitational Boys Large School Track Meet Tuesday in UW-Oshkosh’s Kolf Center.

The indoor meet was the season opener for the Panthers. Falk’s best jump was 20-5½. PHS had two other place-winners in the long jump – junior Cody Kuhn, fifth with 20-¼ and sophomore Derek Novotny, eighth at 19-5.

The Panthers finished 11th in the 18-team meet with 17 points. Bay Port was first with 67, followed by Fond du Lac at 62.

Also placing for PHS was senior Samuel Staehling who earned fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.25 seconds and seventh in the high jump with 5-10.

“We had a good start to the indoor season. Our athletes got an initial performance in and we will try to build from that,” said Panther head coach Jay Grosshuesch.

“Samuel had a nice night as did our three long jumpers. Zach Albers, Jake Schneider and Jordan Marshall ran some real strong times for early in the season as well.”

Albers had a time of 9.37 in the 60 high hurdles. Schneider was clocked in 7.36 for the 60 dash. Marshall ran a 54.37 in the 400 race.
