Sheboygan Shebang auditions scheduled

Area residents are invited to strut their special talents when the John Michael Kohler Arts Center conducts auditions for the Return of the Big Sheboygan Shebang, April 10 through April 13.

“We are looking for all sorts of talent—tap-dancing grandmas, nose-whistling attorneys, orating eight-year-olds—if you have a talent of any kind, we want you,” said Andrea Avery, Arts Center community arts coordinator.

Successful auditioners will participate in the one-night-only production of the Return of the Big Sheboygan Shebang, a hilarious and heartfelt vaudevillian ex- travaganza celebrating the diverse people and culture of Sheboygan. The show will be held Saturday, September 24, at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan.

To schedule an audition time, call 920-458-6144. Or, just show up at the Arts Center between 3 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.

Created especially for the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, the Return of the Big Sheboygan Shebang is a variety show like no other—except the original Big Sheboygan Shebang produced in 2009.

“It’s going to be an absolute hoot and enormously spirited fun for the entire Sheboygan community family,” said Avery.

The Big Sheboygan Shebang is a masterfully crafted production orchestrated by Dr. Prof. Tomáš Kubínek, self-proclaimed Master of the Impossible and Certified Lunatic.

He is an international comic performer who has a background in vaudeville antics and circus sensibilities.

The show is part of the Connecting Communities program at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Connecting Communities collaborations are supported in part by the Bert L. and Patricia S. Steigleder Charitable Trust,.
