The game was both teams’ season debut.

Bares also contributed a teamhigh three assists. Ozaukee built a 4-0 halftime lead.

Junior forward Camrie Schmitz tallied the Resorters’ goal in the 68th minute, assisted by Monica Ruh.

The Warriors led 16-9 in shots on goal. Resorter goalkeeper Taylor Porter made 10 saves, including one on a penalty kick.

“We had three new defensive starters and two new starting midfielders. We had a few growing pains as we gave up four goals in the first half,” said Resorter head coach Kevin Ruh.

The girls stepped up in the second half defensively – understanding when they could step and when they had to retreat. The communication in the second half was good.

“We took less shots on than our opponent tonight, however our percent of shots on goal versus shots was higher. We had good looks at the goal. We need to speed up that part of our game,” said Ruh.
