Home show proves popular as building interest grows

Consumers took advantage of the opportunity to meet with SCHBA members and gather information for their home improvement, building, or remodeling needs at the 33rd Annual Home Builders Expo, presented by the Sheboygan County Home Builders Association recently. With over 70 booths representing a myriad of construction related services, the Expo offered something for everyone.

A big hit of the Expo was the Kid’s Workshop, sponsored by Drexel Building Supply, with kids building a bird house supervised and assisted by the Sheboygan North & South High School Tech. Nonperishable food items were again collected allowing visitors a $1 discount on their entry fee. Following the show all contributions are donated to the Salvation Army food pantry serving Sheboygan County.

From a total construction standpoint “Our members are very enthusiastic about 2016,” said Shelly Nyenhuis, Macco’s Floor Covering and Home Expo Chair. “Spring has given many consumers the itch to update, renovate or build. They are tired of waiting around. The leads gathered at this year’s show indicate that there is strong consumer interest. People understand that their home is still a great place to invest their money,” Nyenhuis added

Enhancing this year’s show was the professionalism offered by different member participants. “Our members go to great lengths to determine the needs of their customers and it shows in the presentation and effort seen in their booths,” said Nyenhuis.

“It gave us great pleasure to be able to provide each attendee to the Expo with a Free ticket to our new event, the Spring Tour of Homes, April 16 and 17. This new event is very similar to our Fall Parade of Homes in that visitors will actually tour recently completed homes rather than just viewing photos,” commented the SCHBA’s executive director, Marsha Binder.

The Home Builders Expo continues to be Sheboygan County’s largest and only home show and one of the best in this area of the state. “Interest in the 2016 Home Builders Expo was very strong,” said Nyenhuis “The enthusiasm from exhibitors and consumers alike speaks to the strength of the housing industry in the Sheboygan County area.”

The production of an event such as this requires the assistance from sponsors, material and product donors and volunteers alike. In addition to Drexel Building Supplies other sponsors include: Roffers Concrete; Expedition Log Homes; Macco’s Floor Covering, C & E Construction; Johnson Bank; Trademark Builders; J.Pfeffer Tileworks; United One Credit Union; Bitter Neumann Appliance TV Furniture; Neuens Fredonia Lumber Co.; Superior Landscape and VanDerVart Concrete Products.
