Bramstedt leads Tiger boys to second in debut

HILBERT – Junior Noah Bramstedt swept the sprints to lead the Howards Grove Tigers to second place in Tuesday’s boys triangular track meet.

The Big East Conference meet was the Tigers’ season opener. Random Lake took first with 73 points, followed by HGHS with 42 and host Hilbert, 39.

Bramstedt won the 100-meter dash in 11.8 seconds and the 200 with a time of 24.83. He also anchored the winning 800 relay which was clocked in 1 minute, 46.1 seconds. The other relay members were Jack Peterson, Sam Strege and Colton Bitter.

Random Lake won the girls meet with 54 points, followed by Hilbert with 45 and HGHS, 38.

The Tigers were led by junior Kjersten Grinna who won both hurdle events – 100 highs in 19.02 and the 300 lows in 58.34. Grinna was also a member of the firstplace 400 relay which ran a 57.08. The other relay runners were Natalie McCraw, Mattie Milz and Noelle Eschen.
