Johanna Allison (nee Rysdyk), 82, of Pewaukee, WI, went home to the Lord on April 11, 2016.

She was born on September 10, 1933 in Sheboygan Falls to Hubert and Cornelia (Roos) Rysdyk. She grew up in Plymouth, WI, attended the public schools, and graduated with the Class of 1951. She graduated from Sheboygan County Teachers College and later attended Whitewater State University.

Her first teaching job was at Spring Valley School, a one-room school near Greenbush, WI. After her marriage to Rolland “Al” Allison on August 20, 1955, she taught third grade in Pewaukee Public School. She also was a substitute teacher and Director of Pewaukee Community Nursery Center.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, lapidary and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a 60+ year member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Pewaukee, where she held many leadership positions. She was a charter member of Kettle Moraine Geological Society and of PEO Chapter CU, and a member of the Pewaukee Historical Society.

She was predeceased by her husband: Rolland; sister: Nell Hueppchen; and parents. She is survived by her dearest daughter: Jennifer Allison; dear grandchildren: Maxwell Anschutz and Allison Anschutz, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 16th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, N36 W24130 Pewaukee Rd. (Hwy 164), Pewaukee. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18th at Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth, WI. Please meet at the cemetery. Memorial contributions: Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Salvation Army, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
