Becker claims wrestling MVP honors

Falls head coach Brad Knecht thanked the athletes, parents, coaches and statisticians for all their hard work during the season.

Knecht also thanked the school district and the Falcons Wrestling Association.

The Falcons finished in second place in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference at 6-1 (13-4 overall). Falls won their third straight regional title with 10 wrestlers advancing to the sectional meet and five qualifying for state competition.

All five state meet participants earned medals at the Kohl Center in Madison, including sophomore Kaleb Ison (126 pounds), seniors Josh Becker (152), Sean Mattek (160), Dustin Setzer (182) and Brady Koller (220).

Mattek earned his second silver medal. Koller collected his second state medal with a fourth-place finish. Becker and Setzer took fifthplace medals. Ison won a sixthplace medal. It was the first time in school history that five Falcons’ wrestlers medaled at state.

State qualifier awards were given to Ison, Mattek, Becker, Koller and Setzer.

Captains awards were presented to Becker, McGinnes, Koller, Setzer and senior Max Post.

Highest GPA Awards: Senior- Becker, Junior-Vincent Hoderny, Sophomore-Yuepheng Xiong, Freshman-Matthew Micoliczyk and Statistician-Kaya LaBine.

Coaches awards were given to Freshman-Matthew Micoliczyk, Junior Varsity-Connor Pierce and Varsity-Ernesto Caram.

Practice Awards went to freshman Riley Spencer, sophomore Parker Schamburek, junior Isaiah Richards and senior Josh Becker.

Best Performance of the Year Awards went to freshman Garret Rau, sophomore Kaleb Ison junior Anthony Xiong and senior Brady Koller.

Most Improved Awards were distributed to freshman Evan Moon, junior varsity Andrew Kue and varsity Isaiah Richards.

Individual awards: Most Pins (Koller 19), Most 3-Point Near Falls (Ison 14), Most 2-Point Near Falls (McGinnes, 13), Reversals, (McGinnes 35), Takedowns, (Becker 73), Most Escapes, (Mc- Ginnes 43), Team points, (Koller 303).

Varsity letterwinners were: First-Caram, Hoderny, junior Hayley Mueller, sophomore Jordan Mielke, freshman Scott Klemme, Micoliczyk, Rau, freshman Hannah Schleicher. Second- Ison, Richards, Schamburek, senior Ashley Cotcher, senior Monica Micoliczyk, junior Alex Rodriguez. Third-senior Jackson Bayer, junior Brandon Hill, senior Max Post, Anthony Xiong, junior Isabelle Kulow. Fourth-Becker, Koller, Mattek, McGinnes and Setzer
