Lots of Moxie at EL-G schools

The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah schools were thrilled to work with artists in residence, The Moxie Strings, Friday. Their workshops centered on creating music with whatever instrument you may have and opening yourself to think outside of the box and were presented to students in all levels of the school district. Besides their workshops they also offered an evening concert to the general public. The Moxie Strings’ combination of creative energy and diverse genres of repertoire offered something for everyone in the audience. Diana Ladio and Alison Lynn, joined by percussionist Fritz McGirr, all hold Bachelor of Music degrees in music performance, which have given each the technical foundation to explore the limits of his/her instrument and helped the group build a reputation for musical excellence. Alison performs on a newly-invented electric cello, and Diana on a contemporary five-string violin, both played through a variety of audio effects pedals. Fritz performs on a mix of world percussionist instruments and drum kit. To learn more about the Moxie Strings go to www.themoxiestrings.com.
