St. Lawrence to present comedy in May

Don’t miss out - the first weekend in May, St. Lawrence Seminary High School presents Career Angel.

An all-male cast brings good family entertainment - filled with laughter. Tickets will be available at the door, $6 for adults, and $4 for children, students, and senior citizens.

“Career Angel” will be presented by the students of St. Lawrence Seminary in the school auditorium Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday May 8, at 1:30 p.m.

“I believe that people should come to see our rendition of Career Angel because of the authenticity that the students, as actors, give to it. Our style is unique in that many of the actors play slightly older or slightly younger versions of themselves. I think that many will get a kick out of the play, whether young or old,” said John Zampino, a junior at St. Lawrence Seminary.

The year is 1939. Hitler has invaded Poland and many nations have already declared war on Germany. The “Hidden House Orphanage” is facing foreclosure, as the bills keep mounting up, and there seems to be no hopeful resolution in sight.

Br. Gregory (John O’Neill, Harvard, Ill.) is the rector of the floundering institution. Br. Fideles (Max Eliason, Hancock, Mich.) wants to set the institute on a purely financial path. The elderly Br. Seraphim (John Zampino, Milwaukee) seeks only to allow for divine providence to save them, as it has in the past.

Enter Br. Seraphim’s Angel Guardian (Eric Howard, Franksville) who is ready to set the wheels of divine providence, and divine comedy in motion. Poor Br. Seraphim is the only one who can see his Angel Guardian which presents the opportunity for many humorous encounters.
