Falls opens season 1-2

With the victory, Falls improved to 1-2 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference. Falls senior Autumn Horn pitched a complete game allowing just one hit, while notching 11 strikeouts and giving up four walks.

The Raiders scored on an unearned run. The Falls offense was led by Allison Berger, Jessica Riley and Breanna Hausler with two hits apiece.

Valders defeated Sheboygan Falls 10-6 Thursday, April 14.

Falls freshman pitcher Alyssa Frey gave up 10 runs on 10 hits with four walks and five strikeouts to take the loss.

Horn led the Falls offense with two hits.

Roncalli outdueled the Falcons 6-4 in the season opener at home Tuesday, April 12.

Horn only gave up three hits and one earned run, while giving up five unearned runs in the defeat. Horn struck out eight while walking none in a complete game loss. Allison Berger scored two runs to pace the Falcons offense.

Roncalli manufactured six runs on three hits.

“We had first-game jitters and couldn’t get over the mistakes that led to their runs,” said Falcons’ head coach Brian Beeck. “The girls played with better confidence against Kiel. As the girls realize their potential, they’ll be really good. This next week will be critical to our season. This team has the talent to contend.”
