JEROME L. BREMSER

Jerome L. Bremser, 89, of Plymouth, WI passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning (April 20, 2016) at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan.

He was born August 10, 1926, in Sheboygan County, WI, a son of the late Paul and Lillian (Hintz) Bremser. He attended Plymouth area schools.

Jerome served in the United States Army, B Battery in Germany during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He retired from the Kohler Company after over 40 years of service.

Jerome was an active member of the Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 in Plymouth for many years.

He enjoyed various sports all his life, excelling in baseball and basketball in his youth. He was an official umpire for the Amateur Softball Associate (ASA) from 1969 to 1976 and umpired in the National Championship in 1969.

He married Patricia Hess on May 28, 1949 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church rectory in Plymouth. The couple resided in Plymouth their entire lives. Patricia preceded him in death on December 4, 2001.

Jerome is survived by his three sons: Douglas J. Bremser of Plymouth, Charles (Joey) Bremser of Long Beach, CA, and Robert (Sharon) Bremser of Madison; one granddaughter: Lindsay Schuette and grandson: Michael both of Rochester, NY; one sister-in-law: Sandy Wagner of Plymouth.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Patricia; two daughters: Dianne Bremser and Cheryl (Bremser) Schuette; son: Bruce Bremser; three sisters: Evelyn (Don) Milbrandt, LaVerne (Harvey) Vogds and Geraldine (Robert) Strade; brother-in-law: Ed Wagner.

Following Jerome’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth. The Plymouth Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites at the graveside services.

A memorial fund is being established in Jerome’s name.
