PHS won, 3-2. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley RIPON – The Plymouth Panthers stayed atop the East Central Conference girls soccer race with a 6-0 shellacking of Ripon here Thursday afternoon.

PHS upped its ECC record to 4-0 (4-3 overall). The Tigers dropped to 0-4 in the league (0-4- overall).

Scoring one goal each were, in order, Olivia Jankowski, Kalei Hering, Sydney Robinson, Hailey Stewart, Taylor Heyrman and Kaylee Koenig. Sarah Morris had a team-high two assists and Nuria Cervera, Robinson and Koenig had one each.

The Panthers, who led 3-0 at halftime, held an incredible 28-0 edge in shots on goal. Tiger goalie Reagan Zimmerman made 21 saves.

“Our objective to play possession soccer and work the ball into scoring position. We did that,” said PHS head coach Brad Feick.

“At first we tried to move the ball quickly to corners but it was ineffective with the speed of the turf. We adjusted, played more to foot and didn’t play the ball to the corner so firmly. I was pleased with how the girls were able to adjust.

“We were able to get a lot players into different positions. Players were able to work on understanding their positioning,” said Feick.

“I was really pleased with how Brooke Frederickson was able to pick up the defensive eld position. Overall I was pleased with how we played.”
