River clean-up scheduled

The 10th Annual Sheboygan River Clean-up & Festival, coordinated by the Sheboygan River Basin Partnership, and Camp Y-Koda will be held Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers must preregister to help collect litter by canoe (canoes available for use from Y-Koda) or on foot.

Once registration is received, volunteers will receive an email which will explain their river assignment and what they should bring. Letters will be mailed one to two days prior to the event. Volunteers will be greeted at their clean-up area by landing hosts.

A free lunch and other activities will be at Camp Y-Koda following the event.

T-shirts are available for purchase on the registration forms, which are available at Camp Y-Koda, or either of the YMCAs. Proceeds from the T-shirts will go to the Sheboygan River Basin Partnership.

Garbage bags will be provided at the clean-up sites by the landing hosts.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult. Youth organizations are encouraged to help collect litter on the river, or to sign up to be landing hosts for the event.
