Boating safety, rescue class includes towing methods

Sailing Education Association of Sheboygan (SEAS) is hosting a Safety & Rescue Boat Handling Class in partnership with Sail Sheboygan and US Powerboating.

Whether you are new to boating, have some exposure through friends and family, this class will train you on proper skills and knowledge needed to on the water safely.

The class is May 25, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with limited space.

Safety & Rescue Powerboat Handling is an 8-hour hands-on, on-the-water course for anyone who will be using powerboats to perform safety and rescue functions.

It is designed for regatta personnel, marine patrols, police and fire rescue personnel, park rangers, and on-the-water sailing instructors, coaches and boaters who just want to have a better understanding of techniques to use when things go wrong.

Topics include proper VHF etiquette, search and rescue patterns, hands-on capsized sailboat exercises, and towing techniques.
