The No. 2-seeded Resorters upped their record to 19-4. H/S, a 10th seed, ended its season at 3-22.

Zorn let her defense do the work as she walked only two to go with five strikeouts. She pitched five innings as the game was called after five due to the 10-run rule.

“Holly moved the ball around well and her change-up kept them off balance. Her and Aryka Klemme [sophomore catcher] work together well. Aryka called a good game,” said Resorter head coach Brian Feldmann.

“It was a good team effort. All year our defense keeps us in games. We hit the ball hard, and were aggressive on the bases which paid off.”

The Resorters committed only one error and made several fine plays, including a couple by right fielder Maddie Schneider on fly balls.

Elkhart collected just five hits but four of them drove in runs. Claire Feldmann had a clutch, two-RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the second inning which gave her team a 4-0 lead. Leadoff batter Sonia Schubert had a team-high two hits, including a booming triple to deep center which drove in a run in the fourth.

The Resorters stole a whopping nine bases, led by Schneider and Feldmann with two each. Feldmann led in RBIs with three. Schubert scored a team-high three runs.

April Gehl led H/S in hits with two.

Jackie Probst was the losing pitcher. She allowed seven runs (five earned) on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts in four frames.

H/S made three errors which led to four unearned runs.
